Looking for a Change

Hello Brainiacs! Boy it has been a long time since I've written anything, huh?  with that, I do apologize! A lot has been happening with me since my diagnosis in January

Let's just say this, everything is looking brighter so now it's time to focus on other things. I am about 4 classes away before I head out to residency.  In the meantime, I have this HUGE school project that I have been working on.  The assignment is to search for a Request for Proposal (RFP) from a government, business, or non-profit organization that deals with Business Psychology.  From there, I am suppose to secure a faculty advisor and write a dissertation of sorts based on the RFP, then defend it in March of 2015.  Sounds hard but boy is it fun!!!

They always say that when one continues with education, one will eventually find what it is they want to do.  Well... It was with this RFP project that I realized what I have been aiming to do all along.  My fellow brainiacs, The Wondering Brain has decided to become a Life Coach.  After analyzing what I have been doing in the last 20 years of my life in Corporate America (Trainer, Mentor, Advisor, Volunteer, Human Resources), it definitely fits in.  How did the RFP project lead to this self-discovery?  The RFP I found is based on being a business consultant to help create a  leadership development academy.  As much as it is time consuming, I am really enjoying myself.  And... isn't that what we all want as a j-o-b?  A job we actually enjoy doing?

So, what are the next steps for me? First off, I will need to get certified as a Life Coach which will happen next month.  In the meantime, amongst all the busy stuff I am in, I will start putting together some seminars in which I can teach out in the community in order to gain clients.  I will also look into writing more stuff on my blog to help others reach their potential.  Of course, the mommy stuff and my crazy life will also be here too.  Wish me luck as I build this new adventure! Until next  time...

  1. I'm so happy that you found your calling! I finally got back into doing some translation work late last year, and even though it's work, it gives back so much (besides the extra income). Keeping my fingers crossed for your realizing this dream. Good luck, Jessica!

    1. Thanks, Stephanie! It's so nice to finally figure out what I want to do! I'm glad you've found your calling too. Hopefully, you can retire your 9-5 job and do what you love :).
