Help! I'm Surrounded by Boys!!

Often times, I am constantly reminded that I am the only woman in this house. Let's take watching TV at my home. Here are the most watched shows at my house:

  • Basketball
  • Football
  • Wrestling
  • Cop Shows (take your pick, we watch them all!)

Shopping is an adventure when you're the only female of the bunch:

Try having a conversation with my boys and here is what you will hear:

  • I don't know!
  • Huh?
  • Not me!
  • Whatever you say, mom! (or hon for my hubby)

Don't get me wrong! I love all my boys dearly. Sometimes, it would be nice to actually watch a girl show, shop at a girl store, and have girl conversations. Sometimes, it would also be nice to look like a girl too! After being surrounded by males, it's hard to dress like a female if all they do is take me to Walmart!

Ladies, do you feel me? I want my womanhood back! Any suggestions on how to get my girly-girl mentality back to normal?

  4. Jessica,
you gotta take a day or maybe even a couple of hours to do some girly stuff! Not sure what you're into but go get that mani/pedi and grab lunch. Or go window shopping and grab lunch. Maybe the hubs can take the boys for a couple of hours and you can soak in the tub with some good music playing in the background. I have a 16 year old boy and a 7 year old girl, so I am able to get in some girly moments, sometimes too many! Hope you can squeeze something in.

  5. Hang in there! I'm sure you look like the tiniest, most fragile human being, surrounded by so much testosterone (well, not quite yet) but I am positive you are actually the toughest one :)
Thanks for linking up back at my place :)

No more babies!! Thank goodness I can borrow nieces. Funny, of all my siblings, I tend to be the boy maker. LOL!! Thanks for stopping by!

  7. This sounds familiar, thinking of some of my friends who are in the same situation, but otherwise the opposite of our house : 4 girls and 2 boys (counting DH and I) !

What about having girly outings once in a while with a friend/friends and do something 100% girly?

  8. I had a daughter living in my house once! She grew up and deserted me. I was left with a houseful of males. I have 3 sons, and a husband. Now my daughter has two sons to add to the mix. Family gatherings have 9 of us, with 2 females. We are so use to all the boy stuff. I feel your pain, but I do know all about sports so I can talk to anyone!!

You know Columba Lisa had a great solution! Ready for a baby girl?

I am following you on Blog Lovin. I can read about all your boys!

    1. I Betty!

Thanks for stopping by! We should hang out and watch football together! LOL!!! Nope, I'm done with babies. I had little one when I was 38. Not sure if I want to go through that again. On the brighter side of things, my boys will always love me :).

  9. We've got a grandbaby coming in May, a little girl, to better even the mix around here too. There's way more boys than girls in this family. Good thing we like 'em pretty good, huh? :)

I'm visiting today from Make Me Smile Monday.

    1. Hi Rosey,

Nice! I sometimes get a little jealous when I pass by the little girl clothes because they are soo cute! However, I'm not sure, but I think boys are a little easier? Either way, you're right! We like them good :). Thanks for stopping by!
