As a new blogger I am always looking for opportunities to gain exposure, readership, and ultimately followers of The Wondering Brain. As I am learning the ropes of my new world of blogging, a theme eventually emerged - Relationships! Yes, it comes down to that - Make friends with your fellow bloggers :-). How do you look for them?
Seek other bloggers out
This was a trick I learned in business school - People don't find you, you find them. There are 1000's of bloggers just like you waiting to be "discovered." Do a Google search and you'll find lots of blogs in just about anything. Click on one of them and start "getting to know" the blogger.
Leave your mark
Don't just peek inside a blog, leave a comment too! Personally, I love comments on The Wondering Brain because I felt like my reader cared enough to write something for me. It's like getting a Hershey's Kiss each time someone writes a comment :).
Find other bloggers from different niches. It's always nice to see how other people write on a whole different subject. Remember now, You also need some content to write about too. Sometimes, stepping away from what you know can encourage your creativity by looking at a different point of view. Plus, it never hurts to make new friends in other avenues of blogging!
Blog Forums & Blog Groups
In a week since I've been back at blogging, I've "met" wonderful individuals through blog forums and special interest communities. So much so, that I have been invited to be a guest blogger! One in particular is a forum called
My Blog Guest. As a blogger, you can ask other bloggers to write a feature article for you or you can offer your blog for others to write something you want on your blog. What's great about this concept is the exposure you gain and a whole new way of getting an audience. Don't forget the win-win situation that you and the other blogger created together!
So, what are some "reflections" you've gained as an aspiring or accomplished blogger? I look forward to my "Hershey Kisses" :)
